Instructions
- Preheat oven:
Set to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper. - Make the crust:
In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light. Add flour and salt; mix until crumbly.
Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of your prepared pan.
Bake for 18–20 minutes or until lightly golden. - Prepare the filling:
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, flour, salt, and vanilla until smooth.
Stir in the chopped pecans. - Assemble and bake:
Pour the pecan filling over the hot crust. Return the pan to the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the center is set. - Cool and cut:
Let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
Tips
- For extra richness, toast your pecans before mixing them into the filling.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days, or freeze for longer storage.
