👩🍳 Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan or cake pan.
- In a bowl, toss the apple slices with lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside to let the flavors soak in.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Stir until just combined—don’t overmix.
- Spread half the batter in the prepared pan. Arrange half the apples over the batter. Repeat with the remaining batter and apples.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
This cake is absolutely lovely served warm or at room temperature. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for a truly indulgent treat.
