### Instructions

1. **Prepare the Steak:** Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced steak pieces. Season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the steak is browned and cooked through, about 3-5 minutes. Remove steak from the skillet and set aside.
2. **Cook the Egg:** While the skillet is still hot (or wipe clean and add a tiny bit more oil if needed), crack the egg directly into the skillet. Cook to your desired doneness – usually a fried egg with a firm whites and a slightly runny yolk for a classic McMuffin experience, or scrambled if preferred. You can use an egg ring for a perfect round shape if you have one.
3. **Toast the English Muffin:** Lightly toast the split English muffin halves to your preference. You can do this in a toaster, under the broiler, or in the same skillet after removing the egg. If desired, lightly butter the toasted sides.
4. **Assemble the McMuffin:** Place the bottom half of the toasted English muffin on a plate. Top with the cooked steak, followed by the cooked egg.
5. **Add the Cheese:** Immediately place the slice of American cheese on top of the hot egg and steak. The residual heat will gently melt the cheese.
6. **Complete the Sandwich:** Place the top half of the English muffin on top to complete your Steak, Egg & Cheese McMuffin. Serve immediately and enjoy!

### Short Tips

* For an even more authentic taste, use a thinly sliced steak that’s been lightly pounded.
* Don’t overcook the steak; it should remain tender.
* An egg ring (or even a metal cookie cutter) can help you achieve that perfectly round egg shape.
* If you don’t have American cheese, cheddar or provolone can be a good substitute, though the classic uses American.
* Feel free to add a dash of your favorite hot sauce for an extra kick!
