**Instructions**
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan, or line with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and dried Italian herbs.
3. Stir in the shredded cheese until evenly distributed.
4. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the beaten egg, milk, and melted butter.
5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix with a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are perfectly fine.
6. Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
7. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until golden brown and a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
**Short Tips**
* For an extra cheesy crust, sprinkle a little extra shredded cheese on top of the batter before baking.
* Feel free to experiment with different herbs! Fresh chives, rosemary, or parsley would all be delicious.
* This bread is fantastic served warm with a slather of butter, or alongside a hearty stew or chili.
* Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or frozen for longer storage. Reheat gently in the microwave or oven.
