If you’re looking for a simple yet delicious baked treat, banana nut bread or a traditional pound cake makes for a perfect choice. Both are comforting classics, with banana nut bread offering a moist texture infused with the natural sweetness of ripe bananas and the crunch of nuts, while pound cake delivers a rich, buttery flavor. Whether for breakfast, a snack, or dessert, these treats are versatile, easy to make, and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients for Banana Nut Bread:

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (or pecans)

Instructions for Banana Nut Bread:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix wet ingredients:
In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork. Stir in the melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Mix dry ingredients:
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined (don’t overmix). Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  4. Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool and serve:
Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!
