Instructions
1. Combine the Base Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, sweetened condensed milk, butter, and salt. Stir everything together over medium heat.
2. Boil and Stir
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring constantly to avoid scorching. Let it boil for 5 minutes, continuing to stir so the sugar dissolves evenly.
3. Melt the Chocolate
Add the milk chocolate chips to the hot mixture and stir until fully melted and silky smooth.
4. Mix in the Good Stuff
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Quickly stir in the marshmallows, vanilla extract, and chopped nuts. The marshmallows will melt slightly, adding creaminess and texture.
5. Pour and Cool
Pour the mixture into a greased 8×8-inch pan, spreading it evenly. Let it cool at room temperature until firm (about 1–2 hours), or place it in the fridge to speed things up.
6. Cut and Serve
Once set, cut the fudge into small squares. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week (if it lasts that long!).
Tips for the Best Fudge
- Line your pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Toast your nuts for added crunch and depth of flavor.
- Prefer a firmer texture? Let the fudge boil for an extra minute.
- Want a darker chocolate flavor? Swap half the milk chocolate chips with semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips.
